THE SAIL TRANING SHIP YOUNG ENDEAVOUR IS A BRIGANTINE, BUILT IN THE UK IN 1986/87 AS A GIFT TO AUSTRALIA FOR THE BICENTENERY IN 1988. THE SHIP IS RUN BY THE R.A.N. WITH A CREW OF 9, SHE TAKES ONBOARD 24 YOUTH CREW AGED FROM 16 TO 23 FOR ABOUT 11 DAY VOYAGES AT A COST OF $1,950 PER HEAD.THE SHIP IS 44m LONG OVERALL, BEAM OF 7.8m & A DRAUGHT OF 4m. POWERED BY SAIL & OR 2 x 215 HP PERKINS DIESELS.UNDER SAIL THE SHIP HAS A SPEED OF ABOUT 14 KNOTS. THE VESSEL IS WELL MAINTAINED & IN IMMACULATE CONDITION.
